The Boys
This shot is the only manipulated image of the post - it had some blown highlights that were difficult to do anything with, but the image was strong enough that I wanted to play with it a bit. A comic book style action made it look pretty cool...
The rest of these shots are in black & white. I wanted a simple, spare look at the guys as they were getting ready and horsing around before heading over to the ceremony. I felt the presence of colour simply distracted from the image and the moments that I was trying to capture. I love the simplicity of black and white photography - these are for the most part unmanipulated save for simple electronic dodging and burning techniques that would be no different from what I would do in a traditional wet darkroom.
I'm getting there with the photos... not too much more and I'll be ready to wrap it up.
