15 Minute Photoshop Break #1

DSC7738 (Abstract)

Contrast-Grain Action

While working on Sherry & John's wedding shots I took a look at a technique I found described here - described as "Extreme Contrast". I definitely disagree with the name - it's not extreme contrast, rather simply contrasty with a lot of "grain" - but I like the look. I've tweaked it a bit and turned my modification into a Photoshop action which results in a (large) file with all of the layers intact and named; these can then be modified, deleted or rearranged at will. I also created a separate action which can be added on top, or on its own; this one creates a 5% edge burn. Both actions have been used on this shot of John & his groomsmen.

update: I've been messing with the action and it's layers are NOT in fact modifiable at the present time. I'll have to figure out how to make it do what I want it to... but for now, the Contrast-Grain action is one-size-fits-all!

Some Shots

I'm supposed to be methodically going through and sorting keepers from junkers but I keep getting distracted by shots that I like and messing about with them. Here's a few more I liked. By the way, satellite internet SUCKS (in case anyone was wondering). But I guess I have to take what I can get, stuck in this drilling camp!
